Ken Burns "discovers" Latinos

I don't comment about where I work. Well, actually I work at National Public Radio, the radio cousin of the Public Broadcasting Corporation, PBS. So all I'll say about the furor over Ken Burns' new show on WWII is this - read the following article on the Houston Chronicle web site.

OK, I have to say one more thing; the American G.I. Forum helped start the Latino civil rights movement. Based in the hometown of my great grandparents, Corpus Christi, Texas, the forum formed shortly after WWII, made up entirely of Mexican-American veterans of WWII.

Hello; we're Americans.
