Latinos in the USA are a significant part of the smart phone audience.

  • 65 percent of Latinos use their handset as their primary access to the Internet.
  • more than 30 percent of iPhone users are Hispanic.
  • From a language perspective, 52 percent of Latino smartphone users are English preferred with some Spanish, and 38 percent are Spanish preferred.

At the height of the hype of the Latino internet bubble in the late 1990s, I was certain the revenue was not there. For one, most of the Latinos online at the time, lived in the United States. For two, almost 100 percent of the advertising market and potential advertising market for Latinos online was in the United States.
